In 1998, the Universidad Americana opened the Business Administration Faculty as a bold experiment. Its mission: offer an English language Business Administration (BAF) degree with the same standards and quality as students could find in quality North American universities. Besides being more affordable than its US counterparts, it would enable its graduates to immediately fit into the cultures and economies of both North America and Latin America.
This experiment has been a huge success. Since it began, hundreds of graduates have moved into positions of leadership both in Nicaragua and abroad. Some have started new businesses that now employ many dozens of Nicaraguans and many have gone on to graduate with Master’s degrees in Europe, Latin America, and even Asia.
As a result of this success, the BAF has been transformed into CUSE, an English speaking College within the Universidad Americana which will eventually offer a full range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Schools of Business and Science & Humanities. As always, this rivals that of any quality university program in North America. Now we offer degrees in International Development, Finance, Strategic Marketing, and Resource Management along with an exciting array of minors. We will soon be able to offer graduate programs in Latin American Studies and in Education. If you always wanted a North American type education but could not afford to go abroad, think again. It may now be available in CUSE!
